In recent years, with the increasingly close trade relations between China and Indonesia, more and more Chinese food, spices, cosmetics and other products are entering the Indonesian market. However, Indonesia's customs clearance policies are strict and frequently updated, and the slightest mishap can result in goods being detained, fined or even returned!
 
Starting from December 3, 2023, the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) has implemented new regulations that impose stricter requirements on imported food, health supplements, cosmetics and more. Today, we will explain the new regulations in detail, and provide practical guidance to help you smooth customs clearance!
 
 
First, the main points of the new regulations on the import of food and spices in Indonesia 
1. Registration and License 
✅ BPOM registration: all imported food, spices must first be registered in Indonesia BPOM, to obtain the registration number (ML/MD number).
✅ Circulation Permit + Border Import Certificate (SKIP): Processed food products need to apply for SKIP at least 7 days in advance, otherwise they cannot be cleared!
✅ Health supplements: additional documentation of efficacy is required.
